Feudom

They are scouting infantry specialized in countering other enemy skirmishers. Their profile makes them a control and denial unit.

What do they bring to their army?

• Deployment control: they force the opponent to rethink their strategy if it relied on scouts or ambushers.
• Safety zone: they protect lines and valuable characters by being a bad matchup for fast or technical units.

Scions of Yaldabaoth

The Husks are a cheap and eternal harassment troop, whose value lies in slowing down the enemy and returning. They block, force the opponent to spend resources, and always maintain the sensation of an “endless horde” surrounding the Virtuosos.

What do they bring to their army?

• Cheap numerical pressure: they flood the battlefield with annoying miniatures and multiple activations.
• Mobility control: their constant slowing hinders enemy charges, repositioning, and retreats.
• Immortal and thematic nature: even when they fall, they return with the Virtuosos, fitting into an aesthetic of a “tide of the undead.”
• Synergy with Virtuosos: they force the opponent to decide whether to hunt down Virtuosos (to cut off the flow of Husks) or waste resources killing what will reappear anyway.
• Tactical distraction: the enemy must deal with them even if they aren’t lethal, due to their slowing effects and constant return.

Northern Tribes

The Rock Troll is a stone giant that complicates combat with its reactive defense and control effects. It brings a unique summoning/reappearance mechanic to the faction. It doesn’t just shine for its attacks, but for being a persistent threat.

What does it bring to its army?

• Area tank: an-anchor that absorbs attention and punishes attempts to bring it down.
• Can break enemy lines by pushing foes away.
• Its Rest ability reshapes the map in its favor, generating difficult terrain.
• Synergy with the Evoker: turns it into a living piece of the army’s magical ecosystem, a resource that can be repositioned, healed, or brought back into play.
• Opponents must plan how to deal with the Troll knowing it can return, that hitting it comes at a cost, and that it leaves a mark on the battlefield even when destroyed.

There is no more terrifying sound in the wasteland than the roar of a Deathclaw. When heard far off, wanderers would do well to head swiftly in the opposite direction. When heard close by, the only options are hide, flee or fight. Chances are it won’t matter what you choose – the outcome will be the same.

These monstrous lizards stalk the wastelands, hunting far and wide for prey. Originally created by government experiment as a weapon in the Great War, Deathclaws were designed to have razor sharp claws and thick hides – a perfect, agile and speedy death machine that lopes relentlessly towards the kill. Only the foolish, insane or heroically brave would stand toe-to-razor-sharp-claw with one and expect to win.

All deathclaws exhibit a devilish cunning on the attack and a shrewd understanding of when to leap and when to stalk their enemy. However some have further intelligence, understanding grunts or gestures in combination with actions, such as saving a brood of eggs safeguarded or attacking a foe to defend a group. But it is the foolhardy wastelander that takes such interaction for granted, or expects it from all examples of the species. A deathclaw gauntlet might be a tempting prize, but there are few who can live long enough to claim it.
