For the last three decades, the Victory class Heavy Carriers has been a dominating force around the globe. They demonstrate the huge significance that naval strength plays in all Crown military campaigns. As an island nation, the British consider the seas and oceans of the world as essential to hold their Dominions together. The Victory and her aircraft ensure that remains so. With an internal hanger that is rivalled only by the experimental Ice Maiden of the Imperium, A Victory can launch dozens of Defiant fighters into the skies to defend the fleet from incoming bombers or to hammer the decks of her enemies with their rapid firing Vickers Automatic Guns.

Its aircraft are not the Victory's only defence of course. It is armed with three Mark VII Congreve rocket turrets, giving them significant long-range engagement capabilities. While the Victory is no spring chicken, its solid design and advanced Crown engineering make it capable of keeping up with newer classes of ship.

Alongside the Victory Heavy Carriers are found, not only the common Frontline Squadrons but also Support Squadrons. The Hotspur Support Carriers add additional fighter Support. It is common for Hotspur captains to drive their ships at full speed towards the enemy, hoping that their large engines give their Defiant strike fighters an optimal launch position. The Agincourt Bombardment Cruisers are armed with the dreaded Taranis Naval Mortar, capable of hurling all manner of projectiles up to a range of over fifteen miles.

The Athelstan Flak cruiser provides a screen of anti-aircraft fire to ensure that the Defiant Squadrons hit their targets and to defend the decks of the Crown vessels. A Squadron of Athelstan's was used on the Thames to celebrate the Queen's Pearl Jubilee, firing magnesium pyrotechnics above the city to mark the occasion.

The Excalibur Heavy Destroyers are also typically found with the Victory class ships. Their role is to deter smaller attack vessels from swarming the immense Carrier.

The Peers of the Covenant of the Enlightened often perform elaborate and sometimes dangerous experiments using the most powerful technologies known to humanity. In order to ensure that they have all the assets required for such work they typically create labyrinthine and eccentric laboratories for themselves. It is not without some irony that these sprawling structures have been collectively named Promethean Complexes. Each complex is fully self-sufficient, using its own power source, fuel and other consumables, whatever they might be. More often than not, in order to contain explosions and noise as well as retaining complete anonymity and secrecy, they build on existing mineworks or new excavations to be contained largely underground, with esoteric and blunt looking iron and steel structures jutting out across the surface forming into a small estate or settlement.

Since Armstrong Custer's famous charge leading the Michigan Wolverine's at Gettysburg, the Iron Horse has become a ubiquitous machine across the frontier. Their combination of speed, firepower and durability led to a massive Union contract with the Covenant of the Enlightened during the Ore War, replacing flesh and blood horses in all cavalry regiments. Now more than a decade later, Iron Horses have become easy to obtain, with Union surplus and frontline shipments making their way onto the black market in vast numbers and the machinery itself proving to be simple to maintain with spare-parts in abundance. While older marks and models of Iron Horse prove to be a little on the temperamental side, the Iron Horse's popularity and variety of designs can be found in use across the Union and beyond.

The Blazer was first used by the Confederate Army during the Battle at Gaine's Mill. The Iron Horse was still in limited service in those early days of the Ore War, but already its endurance and potential were obvious. Twenty-six Iron Horses were heavily modified in the field to mount additional gatling guns and armour plating to shield their riders from the huge attention of enemy fire they would receive once they began their attack. With General John Bell Hood on the lead Blazer, the Confederates tore a bloody hole in the two-mile-long Union flank and the day was carried, despite massive casualties on both sides in the 50,000 soldiers that fought that day. By the time of Gettysburg, both sides had units of Blazers fighting alongside their Iron Horse Cavalry and Blackhooves.

Uniquely found in the Union arsenal, the Iron Eagle is seen by many as the pinnacle of technological evolution for the Iron Horse. More than the replacement of the RJ engine with a voltaic power plant, the Iron Eagle boasts additional armor and electro-weaponry. As the ultimate statement that the Iron Eagle represented the future of Union military prowess, Nikolai Tesla incorporated specially programmed UR-31E Automata to pilot these new machines, giving them a resilience unmatched in the field by other cavalry.

As the war fought above and below ground intensifies all sides are pushed to find more weapons and soldiers to turn the tide in their favour. The Council of Shadows is no different and selects the bravest and foolhardiest of the bakemono warriors to capture and master the beasts that live in the shadows. Only the few survive, but those that do are able to ride these murderous monsters into battle with devastating effect.

A lot could be said for the subterranean races’ savage and cruel practices however their ability to adapt and change based on the environment and resources available cannot be ignored, their resourcefulness is something to be admired when considering the scarcity of materials offered in the dark places they claim as their own. Now with the world in turmoil, ravaged by war, the bakemono tribes pick the battlefields clean like maggots at a wound. This has led to the advancements of the Prefecture being turned against them. The boomers are one such example of this, two brave and possibly a little stupid bakemono eagerly working the famous ryu arquebus to deadly effect.

Another young Oni joins the ranks of the Savage Wave. Boba is a wicked shot, picking enemies off at will. When he channels his Ki he can lob his heavy iron shots with disconcerting accuracy. Those that have felt themselves safely out of his range are only proved wrong once.

Bobata the bell ringer's awesome weapon is at the disposal of the Savage Wave. As Bobata swings the mighty bell around his head he is equally inspiring to allies as he is fear inducing to his foes.

Deep in the belly of the world in the dark places the Bakemono tribes call their own the bats grow large. Whether it is through the consumption of the rare and toxic fungus that the bats in the warrens grow to such size or because the Sho Bak Shugenja are not opposed to the occasional Bakemono snack to help with the diet no one could comment. Those brave explorers who have ventured deep enough into caverns where the bats dwell don’t live long after hearing a strange clicking. As in battle the bats sweep in from the skies, driving their targets to the ground, their suffering only ended then the bat has had its fill of their blood or when the noxious toxics the bats carry in the mouths have overwhelmed their bodies.

An Onisho forged in battle, beaten and bent over years of combat into a bundle of muscle and murderous energy. Years have taught Goro to anticipate the moves of his opponents, enabling him to time his offense with deadly precision. Knowing exactly when to use multiple crippling strikes or a single brutal blow to finish.

Those who taste the blood of a demon are driven mad by the raw alien power coursing through their veins, warping their senses and souls. Jun was already mad. An evil and impure man the Oni’s mad dog to set upon their enemies, savage and loyal to his masters he will do anything for the next taste, putting himself in harm’s way without a thought for his own safety.

Eight foot of lean muscle, a cunning, ruthless hunter. The Kaihei Alpha are the large and most ferocious of the Kaihei an already deadly beast. Like all packs it only functions with strong leadership and Alphas have this in spades, another creature born out of the unforgiving wilderness the Oni call home where only the strongest survive. In battle, under the Kaihei Alphas glare the pack moves as one, quickly and decidedly devouring their helpless prey alive, snapping and ripping in a bloody fury of tooth and claw. Of the many fighting beasts of the Oni the Kaihei rightly hold a place of feared in the minds of men.
